I’ve attached a Call for Entries inviting artists and artisans to apply for inclusion in the September 2017 exhibition Bodies in Translation: Age and Creativity.
The exhibition is organized by MSVU Art Gallery in partnership with a SSHRC-funded consortium of researchers in disability arts and the Nova Scotia Centre on Aging.
We encourage entries that address how experiences that come with age, such as aging with and into disability, can inspire alternate forms of embodiment, culture and art practice. The entry form provides further details. Those eligible to enter include artists and artisans who self-identify as older adults. Also eligible are artists and artisans who care for or assist the elderly, and those whose design work addresses the needs of the aged.
A panel of curators will select the exhibition and entrants will be notified in May 2017.
